Matt & Liz

After the semis, Matt is 25th. I haven't seen the final scores for Pro Women after the semis. I'll update when I do.

Semis

Sorry I couldn't keep up with the scoring and pictures today. Been busy. But after the semis today, Avery has a 2 stroke lead over Josh Anthon 3 over Matt Orum and 6 over Cale Leiviska. Not sure if anyone from the second card came up or not. I'm also not sure yet how many cards play in the finals. I'll update as soon as possible.

hole 7

Hole 7 253' Uphill low ceiling pump with a dip just before basket perched on a ridge.

Avery brushed some branches coming up short. gets up and down for 3. Cale and Josh about 70 out, get up and down for 3s. Matt parks, 2.

hole 6

Hole 6 390' dogleg to the right on a 45 degree angle sloping away to the right under the pin. The only par 4 on the course. The pin is around the corner on the right. The green falls away sharply to the right. Going for it from more than about 25 short is risky.

After driving, Cale hugged the right side and is safe in fairway. Avery's forehand got to just short of the bend. Matt's drive straight up the middle and maybe 50 short of pin. Josh hit early tree and they just found it deep in schule on right.

Avery, Cale and Matt layed up for 3s. Josh pitches out to 20 ft from bend, hits tree, hits tree, misses putt, down for 6. Ouch!

Avery now in front by 2 over Josh, 3 over Matt and 6 over Cale. Wow, how things change

Hole 5 387' low ceiling thru scattered medium height trees with slight turn to the left

Lots of places for trouble if you try too hard. Pretty easy 3 if you play safe. But this is the top card in the semis of Worlds...

Josh 30 ft rt, putt hits top of basket, gets 3. Avery 40 ft away, lays up for 3.

Matt rolls it, hits small footbridge, gets up and down for 3. Cale semi tries to make 60 footer for bird, misses and gets 3.

Josh up by 1 over Avery, 4 over Matt and 7 over Cale.

Semis- hole 4

Hole 4 306' level moderately open fairway with pin slightly uphill to the right.

Josh and Matt park rollers for 2s. Avery's airshot hits by pin and rolls away 25 ft. He makes the birdie putt. Cale came in 25 short. His putt spits and takes the only 3.
