Back and ready to fly!

I hope everyone had a very happy New Year. We're gearing up around here for the 2009 Icebowl Krazy Series, which kicks off this Saturday 1/10/09 at Mt. Airy in Cincinnati. Here's a link to the discussion about it on cincinnatidiscgolf.com In short, we have 3 Icebowls in January and February that are fundraiser events for Fairhaven Rescue Mission. Last year the Greater Cincinnati Flying Disc Association (GCFDA) raised $3100 for Fairhaven. This year we have a goal of $4500. To that end we have several ways to donate: for each player participating in the events, $5 of their entry fee goes to Fairhaven; also, we will be selling Mulligans (extra throws) at each event for $1 per mulligan, 3 per round - all of this goes to Fairhaven; we will have a Split-the-Pot CTP at each event with half of the money going to Fairhaven; many disc golfers are getting pledges for their participation in the Icebowls: they are getting a set donation, an amount per Icebowl, an amount per # of persons participating in the total events, $ per holes played, etc.; the GCFDA has pledged a donation of $1 per person who participates in the Icebowl Krazy Series. We are also collecting clothes and food donations at each event. Kevin Brashear and helpers will assist with collection. If you would like to help us make our goal of $4500 with a donation to Fairhaven Rescue Mission, you can bring your cash, check or money order to the event or you can send checks or money orders payable to Fairhaven Rescue Mission to:

Disc 'n Dat
159 Lloyd Ave.
Florence, Ky 41042

Disc 'n Dat also has Icebowl Fundraiser Discs for sale to raise money. The discs, pictured above, available are: Innova STAR Ontario INNcolor Rocs $30 each, with $19 going to Fairhaven; Discraft Supercolor Buzzz $22 each, with $12 going to Fairhaven. I would get them as soon as you can if you want them - I'm not sure if I will be able to get more or not. You can call me and reserve one if you wish for this Saturday at Mt. Airy.
Dave Hammers, CEO of Fairhaven Rescue Mission, will be at the Mt. Airy Icebowl this Saturday to help us kick off our fundraiser events.
