Icebowl Krazy Series #1 at Mt. Airy

(You can click on the picture to the right to enlarge it - and yes, Chucky did get in the pic)
Well, we got off to a pretty good start with the Icebowl Krazy Series at Mt. Airy on Saturday. I think the weather initially kept a few people away, as it was really raining hard in some areas early in the morning. However, the day turned out to be one of the best for playing disc golf - the rain stopped just as we started our round in the morning and didn't rain any more the rest of the day. The temperatures were really nice too. It was a little cool in the beginning taking signups but warmed up and I didn't wear any gloves the whole two rounds. I like that for an Icebowl! Even though it had rained a fair amount in the morning, the course wasn't too awful bad.
Dave Hammers, CEO of Fairhaven Rescue Mission came by with some cookies for all of us and gave a little talk about Fairhaven, it's mission and needs. He's very appreciative of our support and the efforts of the Icebowl pariticipants. I know a few of them got to talk to him for awhile.
Adam Jones stopped by and took some pics that are posted on the Cincinnntidiscgolf.com website. I also have an attachment with results, etc. in the Icebowl Forum on the club site.
We have raised $515 thusfar and that does not include some pledges and sales of the Fundraiser Discs.
If you were there and had a good time, leave a comment here for us. If you weren't there, I hope you were out getting some pledges and that we'll see you at Banklick for #2 on 1/24/09.
Thanks to everybody who came out.
