Saturday's scores show Nikko Locastro as the 2009 Memorial Champ, Val Jenkins winning Open Women, Dean Tannock taking the Masters, Harvey Brandt the Granmasters, Sheila Kirkham wins Masters Women and John Kirkland take the Senior Grandmasters division.
Nikko takes his first National Tour Event win, with a 3 stroke win over Avery Jenkins. What a sweet win for the young player. He has been close in the PDGA Worlds and other tourneys but this is a big one. Congrats to Nikko. I'm sure Dave McCormack of Gateway Disc Sports is proud of this one. Nikko is sponsored by Gateway. Gateway is the only sponsoring disc manufacturer, I believe, that allows players to throw a mixed bag - throw other manufacturer's discs. I'm not sure what all is in Nikko's bag - I know he does throw primarily Gateway.
My buddy Jeff Eades just couldn't ever get untracked and finished in 9th in the Grandmasters division. Probably couldn't get used to not having on 5 layers of clothing, gloves and all the snow and ice. Seeing the pics and the weather I'm sure he and Debby had a good time.
Val Jenkins wins the Women's Open with a 2 stroke win over Des Reading and Liz Lopez was 1 storke back of her in third. Real close one there.
Dean Tannock wins by 2 over Robert Ryan with several other players 1-2 strokes behind that.
Sheila Kirkham took a 3 stroke win over Peggy Berry in Women's Masters while Harvey Brandt and John Kirkland took home rather easy wins in Men's Grandmasters and Senior Grandmasters.
