Vote for Jim Hilvert Coach of the Year Thomas More College

You may have noticed the Vote for Jim Hilvert gadget to the right here. Jim Hilvert is the Coach of the Thomas More College Saints football team. They are a Division III team and are very exciting and explosive. Thomas More College head football coach Jim Hilvert is on the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year ballot. It is the only coach of the year award where fans can have a vote.

Coach Hilvert is 11-8 (.579) in his second season as head coach at Thomas More. In just his second season at the helm of the Saints he guided Thomas More to a perfect 6-0 record in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference and won the school’s first-ever PAC title in a men’s sport and earned the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Playoffs.

To vote for Coach Hilvert you can either text, JHilvert to 20250 or go online at http://www.coachoftheyear.com/. You can vote daily until the voting ends on December 6th. More than just a trophy, the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award provides each winning coach with $50,000 to donate to one or more charitable organizations of his choice and a $20,000 grant to donate to his school’s alumni association to enhance student scholarships and activities. As of today (Wednesday, November 12), Coach Hilvert is 11th in the Division National Coach of the Year voting. I think it would be sweet to have a local coach win something like that and the community wins too.

The Thomas More College football team looks to close out the 2008 regular season at 8-2 as it hosts across-the River rival, the College of Mount St. Joseph in Bridge Bowl XIII on Saturday (November 15, 2008) at The Bank of Kentucky Field in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
